Stearns County Household Hazardous Waste Facility

This building is a 17,700 S.F.,slab-on-grade structure with a canopy and a 3,000 S.F. mezzanine, built with insulated precast concrete walls, a steel roof structure and EPDM membrane roof.  The facility includes an enclosed drive-thru drop-off, a product exchange area, and a 3-bay, enclosed loading dock to ship out bulk chemicals.  In addition to the storage and vehicle access areas, the office area includes reception space, four private offices, a conference/ breakroom, and men’s and women’s locker rooms. Sustainable features include a horizontal geothermal heat system, heat recovery unit, LED lighting and occupancy lighting sensors.  Permeable pavers were used at some of the parking stalls to reduce storm water runoff.  The building and the site were designed to accommodate future expansions. Approximately $3.5 Million.
