At the Country Manor Rapid Recovery & Aquatic Center, GLTArchitects has successfully created a healing environment that not only meets the needs of adults of all ages, but offers the ambiance and amenities of a fine hotel. This two-story addition contains 60 private skilled care resident rooms with large private bathrooms specifically designated for short-term rehabilitation care.  Medical equipment and controls are carefully integrated to be as unobtrusive as possible.   The resident rooms are organized into smaller living groups of approximately 15 residents, each with their own bathing suite and living and dining areas.  A large therapy suite includes a treatment room and therapy pool.

The 3rd floor remodel of the Neurosurgery and Neurology programs involved a reconfiguration of the spaces to increase efficiency and balance the doctor-to-exam-room ratio.  New exam spaces include larger bariatric rooms as well as larger, more functional EMG spaces.  The new design allows for shared spaces while maintaining the identity and responding to the needs of each practice.  The Neurosurgery viewing rooms have been designed to make use of new medical imaging PACS units.  A few traditional X-ray viewing boxes were also incorporated for legacy files.   As part of the shift to electronic records, the 2nd floor remodel makes use of underutilized space that was formerly medical records storage.  The master plan for this floor calls for the Nephrology and Bariatric programs to move into this space in two phases.  The second phase includes space currently used for conference rooms to become an additional exam bay.  A more flexible patient waiting area is created by opening up three smaller areas to allow for shared space.  Like the 3rd floor, the spaces are designed to respond to the needs of the practice while maintaining consistency with the building’s standards.

With a small addition and strategic remodeling the Crisis and Detox Center is now able to provide crisis clients with individual beds, close proximity to care providers and the separation of detox and crisis care that was desired.
