Wright County Household Hazardous Waste Facility

Buffalo, Minnesota

Wright County had been running their Household Hazardous Waste collection out of a building that was built in the early ‘90s and was not originally designed as a hazardous waste facility. The old building was larger than the county needed and was very inefficient in its use of energy and space.

The county hired GLTArchitects to design a new facility on the existing site in place of the old building. The goals were to improve the customer’s drop off experience, provide a more efficient, safer building, and to improve traffic flow in and around the site.

In order to meet the budget constraints, the building structure utilizes a metal building system.
