IWCC Transportation and Logistics Building
Council Bluffs, IA
Iowa Western Community College (IWCC) has established itself as a leader in career and technical education and is committed to meeting the growing demand for skilled professionals in the critical industries of transportation and logistics. To further this mission, IWCC worked with GLTArchitects on a new Transportation and Logistics Building on the Council Bluffs campus to house their Diesel and Automotive Technology programs, CDL, and a new Logistics program. The new two-story, 86,000-square-foot facility provides space for offices, classrooms, labs, large vehicle diesel maintenance bays, small vehicle bays, wash-bay and supporting amenities. A majority of the exterior shell is made up of precast wall panels with some sections of brick and metal panels near the main entry. Inside the building walls are constructed with burnished concrete block for durability.
