Benton County Government Center
Foley, MN
Benton County hired GLTArchitects to provide a feasibility study on repurposing and expanding their existing government center. After determining that the existing buildings would be too costly and challenging to reuse, the county board decided to pursue a brand-new building. The county owned the empty site across the street from the existing government center.
The new 61,000 sf, two-level government center includes the DMV, Auditor Treasurer, Land Services, Human Services, Public Health, and county administration offices. A large community room and county board room are also provided on the first level. The new building provides a more user-friendly layout for each department along with modern office amenities, something the existing facility was lacking.
The new government center is slated to open in early 2027.
