Grants for Education 2007-08

About the Grants

The maximum amount awarded to any individual
project will be $500.
…
The grant must directly benefit or provide arts
experience for primarily K -12 youth.
…
Applicant organizations and the majority of
those who will benefit from the grant must be
located within the area served by the
Sartell-St. Stephen, St. Cloud, Sauk
Rapids-Rice, and/or Rocori School Districts.
…
Any not-for-profit organization may apply for an
Architects for the Arts grant. Organizations
that are not yet approved for tax-exempt status
may apply through a non-profit fiscal agent, who
will receive and disburse the funds awarded.

Applicants must submit six (6) full copies of
the completed application and any supporting
materials.
…
Project grant dollars may not be used to cover
staff pay for regular hours and/or
administrative duties.
…
Grants may not be used to provide general
operating support, endowments, capital
expenditures, fundraising events, scholarships,
or deficiencies in other projects.
…
Grant recipients will be required to file a
follow-up report within three months of
completing the project.
Criteria used by the AFA board reviewing an
application:
… Artistic Quality and merit of the
project, including uniqueness and creativity of
the project.
… Ability
of the applicant to complete the project.
… Need or
demand for this project that is not being met by
schools or by other community activities.
… Potential
of this project to stimulate additional arts
activities or to expand upon past projects.

of appropriate AFA grants:

Artist-in-residence programs

Field trips to fine arts performances

Projects that are educational in nature and
that occur during the school day or outside
the traditional school day
