What People are Saying About GLTArchitects...

"I have been most impressed with the ability of the GLTA firm to be effective listeners and have the ability to adjust to change requests of the owner yet remain politely firm on issues that they felt would compromise the facility or the process,"

-- Gary Kawlewski, Business Manager
Sauk Rapids Rice Schools, MN.

"Long time residents here noted that our project had been better planned and was more fully conceived than any previous effort placed before the electorate.  Much credit for our success at the polls goes to GLTA for their fine work.  I have a great deal of faith in both the ability and the integrity of the fine people in this firm.  I can offer GLTA my highest recommendation."

-- Greg Vandal, Superintendent
Sauk Rapids-Rice Public Schools.

The Value of Design

innovation  |  esthetics  |  durability  |  functionality

We hold the fundamental belief that good design adds value, not expense.  We strive to innovatively solve clientsí problems, both internal and external, through design.  Our designs honor both our clientsí aesthetic tastes as well as universal artistic principles.  The facilities we design have integrity, fit well into their setting and community, and express the mission and beliefs of the projectís owner.  The long-term value of our work?  Our buildings function successfully, enhance lives and withstand the test of time.

The Value of Leadership

flexibility  |  humility  |  responsiveness  |  reliability

We believe it is our responsibility to provide respectful leadership to your organization.  The foundation of respectful leadership is careful listening, from the planning phase through the construction phase.  We believe that successful leadership is defined by flexibility, humility, responsiveness and reliability. As leaders, it is our job to anticipate, collaborate and to build consensus. Above all, we are your advocates and are careful stewards of your resources.

The Value of Relationships

sensitivity  |  integrity  |  fairness  |  trust

We believe that good architecture originates in good relationships.  As our clients will attest, we place a high value on forming respectful, collaborative relationships with clients.  The foundation of our client relationships includes sensitivity, integrity, fairness, and trust.  Because our firm is large enough to have a depth of expertise but small enough to be personal, our clients forge rewarding working relationships with architectural principals as well as with other members of the firm.  The proof of our success?  The majority of our client partnerships are long-term, and some of our working relationships have lasted more than a decade.

The Value of Planning

listening  |  communication  |  integration  |  consolidation

We believe that the foundation of good design is planning; the foundation of planning is active listening and clear communication.  We begin every project by investing significant amounts of time in face-to-face meetings complemented by written surveys of facility users.  We then integrate that information into a series of flexible solutions that are tested with users.  Alternatives are examined and, through collaboration, consensus is found.

Master Planning is both an art and a science.  It requires integrating existing facilities and programs with both current needs and the long-range goals of the organization.  We provide master planning in nearly every assignment we accomplish.  We feel that part of the architectís responsibility is to suggest solutions that will endure. In order to do that, we have to know where the organization is going.  Do we need to anticipate expansion?  What organizational changes may require facility changes?  Whatís happening to adjacent facilities and land?  These are just a few of the questions that must be carefully asked and answered.  In addition to ìstandardî master planning, we have worked closely with many organizations to accomplish campus-wide master planning as outlined in the experience list that follows.  We bring to your project an ability to anticipate future needs, and the training to ask those questions that elicit far-reaching solutions.
